VCI Masterbatch

VCI masterbatch concentrates the rust inhibitor within a carrier resin. Compared to ordinary rust powder, vapor corrosion inhibitor masterbatch is added more uniformly, has a more stable effect, and is easier to use.

When used in anti-corrosion plastic packaging, VCI masterbatch can continuously form a vapor phase protective environment on the surface of the metals. Especially in scenarios requiring long-term transportation, storage, or sea transport, rust inhibitor masterbatch significantly reduces the rusting rate of iron.

Multi-carrier VCI Masterbatch Design, Matching Different Basic Resins and Processin

VCI masterbatches are typically used in packing films (blown films, cast films, etc.). Therefore, although we have various carrier processing capabilities, based on market applications, the carrier types we currently offer include: PP, LLDPE, LDPE(PE VCI masterbatch), EVA, and TPU. The purpose of creating multi-carrier masterbatches is to improve the compatibility between the masterbatch and the base resin, thereby effectively controlling the release rate of vapor phase protection and minimizing adverse effects on film performance.

Slip Masterbatch

Slip Masterbatch

This problem is quite common among many film producers: same machine, same resin, same formulation — no problem today but tomorrow, the film rolls will be bonded, hard to unwind, and even need to be unwound manually. The immediate reaction of most people will be to check the temperature setting, drawing rate, or cooling system. However, from our experience dealing with film customers for decades, what really matters in making a good film is actually its slip masterbatch. Not only will an ideal slip masterbatch help lower the coefficient of friction, but it should also be capable of achieving a good balance between dispersibility, heat resistance, migration rate, and resin compatibility. In particular for high-speed cast film, biaxially oriented film, and clear packaging film, if the slip system is not properly made, there will likely be haze, blooming, and poor printability issues.

Key Considerations of VCI Masterbatch in Plastic Products

From the beginning of your project collaboration, we will carefully understand the downstream applications of your products to ensure the right solution is provided, such as:

What type of metal is being protected? Is it steel, iron, copper, or a metal composite?

The application scenarios where the customer requires rust prevention and the desired duration of protection.

Is the film colored? Does it require printing?

Are other properties required, such as slip resistance or antistatic properties?

Mature VCI masterbatch solutions typically consider these factors comprehensively during the formulation stage to ensure stability and predictability in complex environments.

VCI Masterbatch Applications

VCI masterbatch is widely used in various corrosion protection plastic film

, such as:

* Packaging films for metal parts and machinery components

* Temporary rust-proof packaging for sea transport and high-humidity areas

* Long-term protection in automated warehousing and container shipping

* Combine with VCI rust-proof paper and bags

By add rust-proof master batch to plastic packaging materials, VCI masterbatch helps customers reduce packaging complexity while improving protective ability.

Why Customers Prefer "Verifiable" VCI Masterbatches

VCI masterbatches are not just a product, but also a risk management tool.

We can provide let down ratio suggestions, support free sample testing, and offer different solutions based on different metal types.

We can not only provide high-content VCI masterbatches, but also guarantee long-term batch stability, providing a solid foundation for the stability of our customers’ plastic products.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How long is the rust protection effective last of VCI masterbatch? Is it customizable?

The effect is related to the formulation, dosage, packaging structure, and usage environment. Under normal conditions, it can provide 6–12 months of rust protection.

Yes. Steel, aluminum, copper, and multi-metal combinations respond differently to vapor phase corrosion inhibitors. We provide customized VCI masterbatches based on the target metal type.

At the recommended addition ratio, VCI masterbatch has a limited impact on the physics performance, and transparency of the film.

High-quality vapor corrosion inhibitor master batch uses a volatile, reversible adsorption system. It will naturally dissipate after the packaging is opened, without forming an oil film or solid residue on the surface.

VCI masterbatch designed for continuous production has good thermal stability and is unlikely to precipitate or generate an irritating odor at normal processing conditions. For production with special requirements, it is recommended tohave small-scale tests beforehand to confirm the optimal process parameters.

VCI masterbatch will not cause corrosion to screws, dies, or metal parts during processing. Its  only works on the protected metal in a confined space and at room temperature.
